Triangle Cabin

The first cabin to be built here at the farm and the starting point for experience as AirBnB hosts. Inspiration was taken from a pinterest post I had seen one day about a couple in the States that built an A Frame cabin. I remember thinking how adorable it was, and thinking how cool it would be to have something similar here for us to camp in our own yard, also for friends and family to stay in when visiting.

My husband and I started to talk and we had also been thinking about starting a little bed and breakfast one day and after showing him the post from pinterest I could see the wheels turning in his head, planning on how to build it and what materials it would take and how we could make it work. So in the late spring of 2019 he got to it. Before no time the cabin was build and I could not get over how special it was. So cozy on the inside, a perfect guest room.

It is nice and cool inside even in summer time, the window in the back opens up to make it seem you are in the middle of the woods. In the winter time you could also feel like you are in Narnia when the snow is surrounding the cabin untouched. A magical little place it is said to be by the guests that come here.

The cabin comes with a full/queen size bed for two, mini fridge, microwave, and an electric kettle. In the winter months there is also a remote controlled heater and the bed is made with a heated blanket to ensure guests are warm even on the coldest nights you might expect in South Western Finland. There is also a small sitting place in front of the cabin to relax and watch the animals grazing and enjoy the nature and quiet.

Skylight Cabin:

When we built the triangle cabin, one of the first things my husband said after sleeping our first night there was that he wished he could see the sky while laying the bed. So we started planning our next cabin, which we call our Skylight Cabin. In the autumn of 2019 this cabin was built with the idea that you could lay in bed and see the nightsky and maybe even the Northern Lights, similar to the igloo hotels in Lapland.

This cabin is almost identical to our triangle cabin with one unique difference, the roof is made from plexiglass, to create a giant window to look out to the heavens. The back of the cabin also has a window to look out into the open fields and the forest borders, making is a perfect spot to catch some wildlife grazing such as deer and moose and more.

One of the most beautiful sites I had the pleasure of seeing was in in the wintertime at our farm while laying in this cabin, seeing the Milky Way so clearly, and falling asleep to the twinkling of the stars. Not just that but the views or the sunrises in winter time is a site to behold, with the bold beautiful colors stretching across the skyline above the fields, like a painting, it does not always seem real. I would recommend to anyone during the wintertime to come and experience a night here.

This cabin is equipped with the same amenities as our triangle; microwave, mini fridge, and electric tea kettle. In winter there is the heater and a heated blanket to ensure warmth and coziness for guests. In summer we also have a cooler to help on the warmer days. There is also a small table inside big enough for two people to eat at, along with a sitting area outside the cabin to enjoy the sights of nature and the sounds of nothing but animals being happy.

Sunrise view from the back window during winter.
